Summer 2026 VR / AR Tamagotchi

VR Horse Box

What it is

A little mixed-reality Tamagotchi for your desk. VR Horse Box is essentially an aquarium with a tiny horse inside—drop it into your real room with AR and watch it live out its life as the seasons and years roll by. It's a calm, ambient pet experience built in the summer of 2026 with the Immersive Web SDK (IWSDK).

The whole thing leans into the initial marvel of AR: a strange, self-contained little object that simply exists in your environment. There are no game panels, no menus, no UI floating in the air—just the box, its physical buttons, and the world slowly turning inside it.

A life in a box

Watch your horse progress through spring, summer, autumn and winter—and on through the years. Small things happen along the way: companions appear, and eventually your horse starts a little family. It's deliberately understated; the pleasure is in glancing over and noticing what has quietly changed.

Just a few buttons

Interaction is kept to physical buttons on the box itself, exactly like a real tamagotchi. Nudge time forward or back, and cause the odd thing to happen—make it rain or drop in some food—but not much else. The restraint is the point.
